Do yourself a favor and channel 1983 on the sly. You aren’t going to need an entire bottle of “Aqua Net” this time around- thank the lord, instead you will have to get a little bit clever if you want to get this right.

It’s not like we didn’t see this coming, the 80′s revival has been in full swing, and the Fall 2009 runways had touches of this rock infused fabric sprinkled throughout. I have gotten questions from clients wondering how to update their holiday look and in my opinion adding a net overlay dress into the mix is fresh, edgy and a sure-fire way to get you a smooch under the mistletoe. (As if you needed a reason to lock lips at your cousin’s, neighbor’s, co worker’s Single’s Only Holiday Party< which if you are single, I totally recommend you have or go to one!) There are a slew of fabrics that have the dramatic feel of the garment being covered in a dark net such as a fine mesh, or an organza. Below are a couple great finds I have stumbled upon when personal shopping and pulling for recent photo shoots, take a peek and see if you find any that might tap into your inner material girl.
