On Wednesday night I cruised over to ABC, the network, to get ready to participate in my one hour ritual where I laugh and hit my fiancé (in a can you believe that sort of way) because Modern Family is so dead on. To my surprise, the Country Music Awards were on. I’m not a huge country fan so I was getting ready to make better use of my time when the camera panned the audience and I got a glimpse of Gwyneth Paltrow looking top notch. I got roped in for a good 15 minutes checking out Carrie Underwood and the ten other country artist I can identify on my own, but then commercials came on and I was gone with the adult A.D.D. wind.
I checked out CMT’S site today to get another look at Gwyneth’s fab ensemble and when I started going through the red carpet snap shots, oh dear lord, it was a handful of fabulous smothered in hotmess. I couldn’t help myself, I began to channel my inner Joan Rivers and thus today’s post came about.

Not to play favorites but of course a Hollywood-ian got the red carpet right.
She most likely uses a stylist who brings her amazing dresses cut exactly for her body
and then they suggest a drop dead gorgeous earring like this, for just one ear.
LOVE! A++
This chica is ready for the big leagues! She looks phenomenal is this jewel encrusted gown.
Note the belt sits perfectly on the most narrow part of her waist, giving her an elongated look.
A+
Another non country artist rocked the red carpet (in attendance with Gwyneth Paltrow for their new movie ‘Country Strong’)
Leighton Meister is equal parts glamorous and age appropriate in this lively ensemble.
The shoes… SHUT IT DOWN.
A+
I didn’t mind Carries Underwood’s attempt at Country Couture. For the most part she got it right,
I would have preferred for her slim figure just a little less volume, but I admire the attempt to bring some real award show
glamour to an otherwise stale red carpet. Also she was the show’s co host so she could get away with an over the top dress.
A
I like that Taylor Swift laid off the red lip and let her dress do the talking.
More importantly I feel Tay Tay may be a cause for concern looking uber thin in this pic!
She needs a weeks worth of lasagna, pronto.
Loved her hair, jewels and soft make up- and the fact that she wore shoes this time around.
A
She looks like perfection, the earrings are stunning and the shadow is a nice touch with out being tacky.
He however could have chosen a better shirt. We won’t let him affect her score though.
A
This gent looks smashing. Love that jacket and the fact that he is keeping it country with a pair of black denim is fine by me.
I did laugh when I saw the commentary on the CMT website, where it said he was wearing a black suit…
(Umm FYI a suit is a jacket and pants cut from the same fabric. Just sayin’)
A
As hilarious as it is, that you could slice this man in half and pin his top to different bottoms and vice versa,
I enjoy this 2/3 of a 3 piece suit/cowboy fusion. The excellent tailoring is what makes this look great.
A
I SERIOUSLY had to do a George Michael double take! Billy Ray Cyrus is certainly channeling something
special from the early 90′s… but aside from that beautifully blown out mullet and goatee combo
His outfit looks pretty good.
B
Girl, you just got engaged, people will be looking at your hand now more than your artificial cleavage…
get a manicure!
Her dress and hair were a good combination, not such a fan of this view with major side boob but from
the front it looks good on her shape.
B
One of the few males actually wearing a “suit”.
The look is good, would have preferred a more tailored shoe like a lace up.
B
When bad fabric happens to good people!
This organza fabric is just not keeping its form, it looks sloppy.
This high neckline combined with the volume of the dress really overwhelm her.
C
Another sad miss. This has no shape for her shape.
The color is great and so is the make up, but this silhoutte on her is all wrong.
C-
I know Gretchen Wislon has a line in one of her songs that states
“I ain’t no high class broad”
so I wasn’t expecting Oscar de la Renta here BUT… a sweater dress and a leather bag ?
I will give her credit for those hot boots, but the whole look just isn’t really awards show appropriate.
D
I do believe that these two “tried” but this is bad on top of bad, standing next to each other just enhances the bad.
These versions of fringe and velvet look so dated.
D
You knew you would see something like this.
At least they’re Carhart, isn’t that like the Gucci of overalls?
F
What in the after prom party are these two wearing?
I’m sorry but 1950′s Barbie never hung out with Bratz Dolls.
F with a weeks worth of detention
I’m pretty sure this woman is a worst dressed staple, look at that face, she’s got it down pat.
Banned from all Red Carpets
Well now looking at this there seem to be more good than I remembered, so that’s always pleasant.
Just having a little Fashion Police fun on a Friday!
Hope you guys have a great weekend, and feel free to weigh in with your fashion opinion by leaving a comment!

Tiff I love this post! You are so funny, can’t wait til you are the next joan rivers!
Thanks Kristina, I live to entertain you
Every single review was SPOT ON! Tay Tay IS looking a little thin isn’t she? I hope fame doesn’t wear her down.
