Making Waves & Other Goodies

Trust me, a product made these waves, my hair never looks this good with little effort

Before my next post of lurrrrrve jet sets over to Crete, I thought I would share my vacation survival kit. Packing light for two weeks tends to get difficult, and honeymoon or not, airlines had no problem slamming us with over weight bag fees , so when going the distance you really have to make sure everything in your luggage has a purpose. And for the record, our luggage was right on target on our way there, Dad, but as we started to acquire treasures along the way we had to start checking an extra bag. {My father still hasn’t forgiven me for my major over weight bag episode when we took our family trip to Vegas in 2002, but what can I say chain belts were really in style, I had to bring several options…} Anyways here are the goodies I couldn’t live without while frolicking over seas.

This was a super chic and very useful gift my friend Liz gave me at my bachelorette party.

{I’m totally stealing this idea and giving a ‘lil honeymoon gift to my future bachlorette’s I thought it was so sweet!}

The Calaypso bag by design, is beautiful, but also very useful, I used it to carry all my travel size products so it was easy to get through airport security.

Having never used Burt’s Bees products, I am slightly addicted to the tinted lip balm that left me with a super soft pout and a gorgeous tint.

Most Valuable Player: The After Sun Soother. We almost finished the whole bottle on our trip! With heavy notes of Aloe and Linden flower this lotion soothed our sunned skin while adding a resilience to it.

So there aren’t any irons… For a couple who starch their socks, we were dreading the wrinkles like a woman contemplating botox.

Thank goodness for this little guy. It actually does work!

(Mind you I did iron all our clothes before we packed them, so this was just releasing those suitcase creases.)

In a couple easy steps, spray, smooth, hang it up, and the wrinkles release!

Now there is no excuse for you not to be polished 24/7 domestic or international.

Having naturally, frizzy curls, the moisture from the mountain air in Santorini would have had me in a panic.

I mean, this is my honeymoon no time to be looking like little orphan Annie on her bad days or better yet this.

I scooped up a bottle of a new product,  Fructis Wonder Waves on my last Target run before we left the states.

Wow was that a lucky impulse buy! This spray tamed my tight curls and frizz, while leaving my hair soft and shiny.

W.I.N.N.I.N.G.

With rocky terrain and uneven pavement our his and hers  Sperry’s were the intersection where fashion meets function.

Don’t worry we weren’t total cornballs wearing them at the same time, but since some areas due to rugged cobblestone were a no heels zone, I was glad that I packed a chic flat option.

Last but not least, of course it was the tech toy that was the honeymoon saving grace.

An easy way to cut that international phone bill is to go iPad. You can purchase an international plan on a month to month basis if you go with AT&T.

This made it easy to communicate with family and friends, map out our next conquest, and totally put a dent in that 11 hour plane ride with Scrabble Pass ‘n Play and a few seasons of How I Met Your Mother.

So whether you are going to the shore or hopping on a cruise make sure you have some of these must have goodies in your bag!
