Coming from a fashion design background, I know how major it is to be selling your goods on 5th Avenue in Manhattan, and not just on a card table set up on the side street… in the Disneyworld, where designer dreams come true, Henri Bendel. Take that magical experience and dust it with the glisten of some sassy citrine and rutilated quartz and you’ve got yourself the Whitney Stern 2012 Preview Trunk Show. Occupying the window space of Bendel’s ground floor was a petite brunette in sharp black suit with a lot of enthusiasm, enter Whitney. She gave me a tour of the collection when I arrived and went into detail of how her company sources her semi-precious and precious stones, from South America and a explained to me the design process. I was so intrigued by the many finishes that can go into one tiny ring! Once hearing this information I started to look at the collection more thoroughly and could see the labor of the love that is this very rare line.
“Customized jewelry design for any occasion is my specialty. My designs are instantly recognizable by the WS signature bimetals and sanded finishing techniques. I love contrasts, blending darks and lights and incorporating colorful natural earth stones that reflect the inner spirit of the person who wears them.”-WS
The trunk show was quite the extravaganza as many pieces had already sold, and day one wasn’t even over! If there is one thing that Manhattan women, and those visiting that shop 5th for sport want, it’s something with an edge. This collection is all that, and a bag of chips. -Oh yes, I went there. Check it out for yourself.

It was so amazing meeting Whitney her energy was so positive, I wonder if it has to do with hanging around all those organic stones day in and day out? I loved when she said to me, “You know, Diane Von Furstenberg got her start at Bendel’s” , I have no doubt that this fantastic line is on the same path.
The trunk show is going on now through Monday October 17th, so if you are looking for something to do this weekend, I would put stopping by on the top of your list!

hmmmm….so many beautiful choices! I would be all dolled up in the all red Christian Siriano dress.
