Stylist, Creative Director of Elle Magazine and Host of All On The Line Mr Joe Zee and myself at Nicole Miller’s Fall 2012 Fashion Show
Hola! I am so sorry it has been SO long! Things have been movin’ and a shakin’ and a stylin’ over here and the blog has been neglected. Hope you all have been great, and I can not thank you enough for all the love on the previous post of closet editor! So many reached out through social media and email to let me know how much this post helped… so of course I will be featuring many more real wardrobes soon! In the meantime, there was a little excitement here in New York City a couple of weeks or so ago, New York Fashion Week, maybe you’ve heard of it?! Ahhh, of course you have and if you follow me on Twitter you were getting my updates as I popped in and out of shows, died over street style of fellow show-goers and had a bathroom run-in with the stunning Kelly Rutherford of “Gossip Girl”, I guess Stars are like us, sometimes?
Really though, let’s get down to business… here are the highlights, and some stand out trends from the Fall 2012 shows.
Rebecca Minkoff delivered the new school cool during her Fall 2012 Runway show that had a performance by Hip-Hop Hipster Theophilus London, check out my full review over at I Heart Heels and if you were dying to know about those sweet side buns, check out The Product Girl‘s Blog, she has all the steps from TRESemmé on how to get this effortless hairstyle {MUST PRINT OUT!}
When I think of effortless, cool, urban, clothing, one of the first brands that always comes to mind is Rag and Bone. They know how to make their customers look city chic in a New York minute. As if I haven’t been making endless wish lists with their current spring collection on Barney’s & ShopBop’s websites {the tuxedo jean is way to shake things up when it comes to cutting-edge bottoms} their Fall 2012 show legit, rocked my world. Every detail was in place from refined leather belts, to herringbone boots and an element of layering that will make a blustery winter’s day welcomed due to handkerchief hems that will be dancing in the wind.
A fashion week fave, Alice + Olivia, did not disappoint with their Fall 2012 presentation. {And can I add how happy I am that Stacey Bendet, shown above in an exquisite gown of her own design while her daughter has an ice cream with another little girl, chooses to show her line in presentation form? There is so much to see, I feel like it might get lost on the runway.} The main event of this main event, there were gowns! Glorious gowns that had everyone enchanted, although the entire collection is not to be missed. Another not to be missed moment, bumping into the uber sweet Kristin Chenoweth who will be staring in the new show GCB.
Check out my full review of A+O this week on IHeartHeels!
The genius of Alexander Wang, has a colorful soul like myself contemplating going black, white and graphic for a season. Just from the photos above, it is easy to see how this stark palette, sophisticated details and not-so-subtle hints of sexy can make a girl adopt a new personality. I mean a thigh-high slits in outerwear, how can I work that in on a Wednesday? I have 6 months to figure it out…

I know I am going from one style to the next, but the ultimate show for me {a dream of mine to physically attend one day but for now I will settle for the live stream} is the créme de la créme of ladylike luxury, Oscar de la Renta. The palette, the fabrications and the passion from this romantic novella was enough to make a girl swoon on the other side of the computer screen. The most exciting part, the digital influence. Check out ODLR’s concept #theboard and you will understand, how this {almost} 80-year-old designer, has his finger on the pulse of what’s next for fashion.
So that’s a peek of what is to come, but to see more of my favorites from New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks check me out on Pinterest, yes, I am finally a pinner, and see what other looks have me inspired and will be influencing the style curve.
