So a little extended weekend get away has gotten the best of this week’s blog calendar… But are you surprised?
Perhaps I can be excused? I was working really hard celebrating the 27th annual year of my birth. My sister and I saw a great deal on Jetsetter a couple months back and decided it would be fun to do a weekend getaway with our boys. Les Saint Martin in Downtown Montreal reeled us in with its elegant style and french flair. The added bonus might have been the exquisité {as said with my new fabulously faux French accent that I picked up as quick as Madonna in the middle of Trafalgar Square} weather. It was gorgeous out and radiated in the attitudes of everyone we met. Or are Canadians just that nice? Either way it was a beyond pleasant experience, in a great metropolitan place loaded with history, beautiful architecture and some seriously strong cocktails. Not a bad way to toast another year.
A few of the beautiful sights we saw shown above, even the money is sophisticated. Check out the gorgeous shots we took at the George Stephen House. It was a beautiful palace in the middle of a modern day side street. It’s that preserved charm, juxtaposed with sleek present day design that gives Downtown Montreal a stunning landscape.
Since we were cruising around, aller á pied, ya know, thats French for on foot {I obviously just Googled that} and I felt a more laid back vibe in the air, I parked my heels in the closet and pulled out the metallic flats. Say whaaat? Yes, I actually put on sensible shoes for a long day of walking. I must be getting wiser in my old age. Check out my look below which is great for a casual day adventure or if I were, to say, plop on a pair of heels and nix the flats, I feel like this semi-sporty look would get a slight Alexander Wang tone which is always welcomed among the stylish.
We were feelin’ the stripes! And do you see now why I am always in heels… I’m short. Even my little sister has a height advantage.

{Just bought this lil beauty last week for $14, get it while it’s hot! Well, actually breezy. Breezy weather would work better this kind of scarf}
Take this casual look and bookmark it for your next excursion, or just note the color palette. Loving how the navy/coral/metallics work together so well. Check back tomorrow more Montreal style to come, and I’ll give you a hint, it’s glamorous.
