A couple of weeks ago I had an overwhelming feeling of being uninspired. My creativity hit a dead zone. Virtually I was already making wish lists for fall with leather pieces from head to toe, and planning my looks for New York Fashion Week. In actuality I was helping clients get ready for summer soirees and putting a spin on a few fabulous frocks, and thankfully that jolted a little excitement in me.
I decided a dress could probably lift me out of my rut, clearly shopping is my therapy of choice. I didn’t want to go to one of my “go-to” spots, I needed to mix things up… I peeked through my shop-til-you-drop bookmarks tab and there with my extended list of spots to lust over was an old friend. It’s been a while, so I went down to their lower east side store, and found the piece that brought me back to bright, a lively chiffon halter maxi dress by Champagne & Strawberry via Pixie Market. I fell in love with the details of this piece. If you look close at the chiffon you can see a glittery champagne sparkle laced throughout the fabric, it gives the dress a beyond enchanting feeling. It was the intricate excerpts of textured yellow swiss dot playfully arranged in an oversized chevron pattern that channeled something energetic in me and I instantly knew the story I wanted to tell with my new find. {Special thank you to my husband who trotted over to Liberty State Park with me to make my vision come to life}
Featuring guest star accessories, my natural straw and sequins tote from Target. Dany platforms by Jessica Simpson .
And with that, I guess you could say I got my groove back.

I’m almost certain you will NEVER lose your groove – but whatever it is that inspired this post, keep it up!
Love it! Love the dress, the bracelets, and the fact that your husband endulges you.
August is often a summer rut-maker. We all want summer so bad but by August it’s time to start pining for boots and spiced cocktails.
Gorgeous in every way!! From you to the back-drop. The photos of the dress get better and better, can’t decide if it is the model or the photographer!! And your writing…beyond!!
