I may not have two turntables and a microphone but I am packing the skills to squeeze the last drops of everyday fierce from the summer’s biggest hits. Today is me practicing what I preach, featuring three looks worn this week all derived from my seasonal staples. My plan was to pick a few pieces that you may also have in your fashion mix and hopefully my re-styling will inspire some chic satisfaction up in that closet of yours.

Classic/Basic Shorts
Since fall doesn’t truly arrive with the change in month I see you getting a few more weeks mileage out of your trusty shorts. Pair them with a blazer and lighten things up by way of subtle prints. Polka dots are everywhere right now, mix a spotted top with a striped bag or take a cue from me and take a walk on the wild side with sophisticated animal prints.

The Maxi Dress
Keep on maximizing the piece of the summer by tying a relaxed button down on top. From your classic white shirt, a playful little plaid number, or something chambray the ease of this comfortable style can reinvent itself into early fall effortlessly.

The Little White Dress
I don’t know about you, but I HAD to have a white dress for summer. Now we know the rules of white after labor day were meant to be broken. Shatter that stuffy old commandment by putting a little texture on top. A light weight knit with a bit of body or even a leather jacket can have your dress impressing for the long haul.
