Diiid somebody say… Style Series?!? In case you missed me posting about this on Instagram and Twitter earlier this week, I thought I would share some photos of this white hot shoot I styled for Hoboken Girl’s Four Part Style Series, that was photographed by Hoboken Girl creator Jennifer Casson. With an initiative to promote local shopping in lieu of those adorable banners lining Washington Street “Let’s Keep the Charm” we wanted to deliver the charm from some of our favorite boutiques like Sweet Nicholas, Factory Boutique, Bella Ro, Maxwell’s 9.13.34 {insane accessories assortment!}  and all our designer duds were courtesy of Midtown Authentic.

Our models are all talented locals Lynda of Healthy Hoboken Girl, Jillian of Sprinkle Massacre and Ashley of Rebellations Hair & Beauty Studio and boy were they serving it up in front of the camera! This shoot was an absolute ball to be a part of. Below I have a few tips on how to style a monochromatic white look, but after you read those head over to Hoboken Girl and get the full scoop on where these pieces came from and how you can incorporate them into your social calendar!

It’s been a big season for Clinique, last month they dazzled us with launch of their CC cream that is still brightening even the dullest days, but now it’s time to give them a hand, literally so they can polish it with their new line of nail enamel. Of course this isn’t just any line of finger paint, Clinique is all about products that provide a beautiful solution. So what’s the problem you ask? Did you know on average a person touches their eyes 200 times a day? Well they do, and with that frequent amount of contact, the polish from certain nail enamels can cause irritation and even the allergen source for periorbital dermatitis. In an effort to decrease these unwanted reactions, six years of testing ensued and finally this month they were able to bottle up the magic and bring it to your local Clinique counter in 12 “go-to” colors and nine limited edition shades for summer 2013. The “go-to” colors include Red Red Red and Party Red: two of Clinique’s most adored lip shades now fit for the tips and toes!

Aside from the fact that this dermatologist tested, opthalmologist tested and Tiffany Piñero Style tested polish certainly is easy on the eyes {no bad reactions here and we did some extra touching just to make sure}, it was also allergy tested on 600 people, 12 times. As for the appearance, my manicure went un-chipped for a solid 5 days and by a week there were still only minimal imperfections. We played with the pigments and gave a few of the vibrant limited edition shades a whirl in front of the manicam.

How’s that for a baker’s dozen?! As you saw in my previous post, once you’ve met your match, as in the perfect chambray shirt, the styling possibilities are endless. Endless I tell you! However if this perfect little piece isn’t in your closet yet, as your personal shopper you know I got you covered. Above are tops that run the gamut from classic all the way through to Victoria Beckham, yes she gets her own category {her top is totally a splurge but if you can swing it, it is such a fun fashion pick}.

Questions you should ask yourself when finding the right one, do you want two pockets, one or none? If you are well endowed in the chest area I advise that less is more. Do you have a favorite pair of jeans? If so go with a chambray that is at least two shades lighter or darker than their wash so you can easily achieve the Canadian Tuxedo Finally, if you already have this style staple in your wardrobe but just can’t get enough, add in another piece like C&C’s printed number or the bold dye jobs from Old Navy and Urban Outfitters that will lend an edge to everything you pair them with.

From my previous post you can tell, I have the fever. I am consumed with the charisma, the lavish fantasy, that is the story of The Great Gatsby. My anticipation for this blockbuster is not just to see how well Leo is aging, you know I am in it solely for the costume design. Catherine Martin {wife of “Gatsby ” director Baz Lurhmann} is the creative mastermind behind the movie’s wardrobe department and from what I have seen by way of stills and trailers, the fashion crowd will not be disappointed. The authenticity of the 1920′s with a twist of modern brilliance, we’re talking Miuccia Prada brilliance, I can barely contain myself.

Slap me silly and call me inspired, when attending our good friend’s wedding last month I decided to go all the way channeling that roaring radiance. I already had my unworn beaded Alice + Olivia dress in my closet, a sample sale find… at $99 {originally $495} I figured it couldn’t hurt to have such a beautiful piece in my arsenal for a Tuesday, or ya know a wedding… But I can’t just wear a dress verbatim {and nor should you} you’ve got to own it, so put that “you” spin on it. My Tiffany Touch came through pieces that made an impact while being harmonious with the core of the look. I made myself a little feather fascinator for my hair out of randomness in my closet, a few bobbi pins and a glue gun and voilá! Finishing off the look were Ivanka Trump’s Bulbi patent peep-toe shoes, not only were they elegantly understated, they were true dancing shoes. Felt like I was walking on cloud nine all night long.

My last photo was with the Groom’s Aunt. I spotted her at the ceremony and became an instant fan, I mean this woman was undeniably fabulous and her look was equally so. {The photo doesn’t do her outfit justice, it was ten times more luxurious in person} She was beyond owning it ladies, take note!

And let the Gatsby countdown begin.

We weathered the weather and made it to May. With a halo shining around the promise of gorgeous days and endless opportunities for open toe sandals ahead, I think it’s safe to say  sprummer has arrived.

Of course there are trends that will be trickling in and out of stores and as always there will be a few I will urge you to try but more importantly this season should be built off an attitude. Who do you want to be when the heat is on and the amount of garments you wear goes from more to less? This is where a mood board comes in handy. As you saw in March I had a few moods within in my overall seasonal theme and many of those are still standing strong for the official kick off to summer. {Still ADORING tassels like there is no tomorrow!} However with lighter fabrics and silhouettes that embrace the change in temperatures ready for the rotation, a surge in chic is just what the wardrobe ordered. My major influence at the moment and obsession du jour is all things Gatsby. Art Deco shapes, the endless amount of opulence and the art of accessorizing have my heart beating at a superior pace. It’s been a big hair trend for the ladies, you might have noticed a commercial for it when your woman was making you sit through an episode of The Bachelor. It’s called Ombré, defined as having a dyed, printed, or woven design in which the color is graduated from light to dark. To my surprise my co-worker Matt came in with his eye catching sweater featuring this shady trend and I had to share it. What could be an otherwise simple look gets an instant dose of fashion sense by this unique dye treatment. Props to Matt for keeping it neutral with complimenting pants. This is a great and easy to coordinate look I hope a lot of the fellas jump on board with.
