So, do you love our new house?! A girl can dream this wouldn’t disturb the suburbs, right. When I had discovered on PS1 MOMA‘s instagram account this amazing shot of what looked like an abandoned house with a paint job as loud as me, I was hooked. Rockaway! is a “site-specific” art exhibition created by Katharina Grosse using vibrant color on Fort Tilden’s decaying aqautics building; damaged during Hurricane Sandy. Open until November 30th this work serves as a final celebration of this landmark before it is torn down. Get the full details on this exhibition here.
Just from the instagram photo I was inspired. The energy was popping off the screen and I knew had to experience this in person- and in style. This super saturated backdrop needed a garment that was equally as spirited- so this maxi dress with its cami-meets-off-the-shoulder-top was just the gal for the job.
And don’t forget to check the previous post for a few more fierce dress options here.
This work of art is beyond radiant and in a location that was devastated by Hurricane Sandy. It’s definitely worth the trip to see and with it’s proximity of being steps from the beach, you can really make a day of it. I hope you will!
